This policy explains what information Wabi (“Wabi”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the Wabi app, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Wabi, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. Your email address and password.
- Profile information. Your display name, handle, avatar photo, and preferred drink types.
- Activity data. Drinks and cafes you log, ratings and comparisons you make, photos you attach to a log, your rankings, points, streaks, and tier progress.
- Social data. Friends or follows you add, and activity notifications generated by your use of the app (for example, a friend logging a drink).
- Location data. If you grant location permission, your approximate device location, used to search for nearby cafes. We do not retain a history of your location.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to operate and improve the app: to create and secure your account, show your rankings and feed, calculate points and leaderboard standings, connect you with friends, and find cafes near you. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
3. Third-Party Services
Wabi relies on a small number of service providers to operate:
- Supabase, which provides our database, authentication, and file storage. Your account data, activity data, and uploaded photos are stored on Supabase’s infrastructure.
- Google Places API, used to search for cafes near your location. Your search query and approximate location are sent to Google for this purpose.
These providers process information on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations. We do not share your information with any other third party for their own marketing purposes.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your information for as long as your account is active, so the app can function. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete Account. Deleting your account removes your profile, activity logs, photos, points, friendships, and notifications from our systems. This action is immediate and cannot be undone.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- You can view and edit your display name, handle, avatar, and preferred drinks at any time in Settings.
- You can change your password, or request a password reset email, from the sign-in screen or Settings.
- You can request a copy of, correction to, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at the email address below.
We do not sell personal information and have not done so in the past 12 months. If you are a California resident, you have the rights described in the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we hold about you and the right to request its deletion, both of which you can exercise using the controls above or by contacting us.
6. Children’s Privacy
Wabi is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and access controls on our database, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.
